"Key largo" is a sp. belonging to the Trichorhina genus that was collected in Florida. There are slight morphological and behavioral differences between "Key Largo" and tomentosa (common dwarf white). This species does play dead, but rather than curling into a "C" shape, they go flat and rigid.

They burrow and behave the same in relation to other clean up crew behavior, however. A 2oz culture has an estimated amount of 20-30 visible isopods in the substrate. A 5oz culture has an estimated amount of 40-60 visible isopods in the substrate. We keep these dwarf isopods at room temperature (75F) and in many different humidity levels.

These dwarf isopods thrive at mid to high ranges of moisture though ( 50% and above). We feed these isopods dampened fish flakes weekly though they primarily use their substrate as nourishment. Very easy to keep and breed.
