Sweet Gum Pods make the perfect decorative addition to your bioactive enclosure, whether it's for a reptile, amphibian or your favorite invertebrate. We have heat treated these ourselves, but encourage you do so again or freeze them overnight before adding to your enclosure to reduce any outside contaminants.

These seed pods are even great as shrimp tank decor and as a way to encourage algae growth for nano shrimp, especially the neocaridina species while providing tannins filled with antioxidants to your water. It is recommended that you boil the seed pods for 15 minutes before adding them to your fish or shrimp tank, as this speeds up sinking and tannin production.
