Porcellionides pruinosus “Powder Blue”

A very popular isopod for bioactive tanks, the powder blues are fast and prolific, making for a very efficient clean up crew. The "powder" portion of their common name comes from the dusty appearance that the adults take on in between sheds. These isopods are suitable to a wide range of enclosures and have done well in bearded dragon and snake bioactive setups.

We like to keep our animals at room temperature (75F) and in average humidity (about 60%). The powder blues have been raised on a diet rich in protein that includes fish flakes, dried minnows and shrimp, vegetables such as carrot, pumpkin and squash, in addition to plenty of leaf litter.
