Porcellio scaber "Orange Koi"

The "koi" gene of P. scaber , shown as an orange and white pattern. Some variances in how the pattern is distributed may make specimens almost all orange or white. It is our goal to produce high contrast animals - meaning lots of pattern, avoiding explicitly one color.

This species is very tolerant to a wider range of habitats and we have kept them in drier, more arid conditions with a damp mossy area and we have also kept them in a more humid jungle type set up, with good results. An average temperature of 75-80 F is in the best interest of this isopod.

The Orange Koi is not a picky eater and will munch on their leaf litter, in addition to fish flakes, dried minnows and supplemented vegetables.
