Porcellio scaber "Lava"
Porcellio scaber "Lava"
Porcellio scaber "Lava" is a codominant morph that shows up as dark red / orange red splotches randomly on the grey porcellio scabers. This isopod is able to thrive in a variety of bioactive setups and also by itself as a pet.
The Porcellio scaber Lava can cohabitate with harder scaled reptiles with no issues and seem to like to congregate under the water bowl areas in bioactive enclosures. The isopod prefers a dryer substrate with a strong moisture gradient when kept in its own bin / container.
This porcellio morph, like all porcellio thrive with a varied diet rich in wood, leaves and a nutritious substrate. They also appreciate vegetables like corn, carrot, zucchini and other root vegetables. We also provide protein weekly in the form of dried minnow, shrimp, fish or mealworms.
