Pelletized Limestone

Pelletized limestone is a great alternative calcium source for isopods and springtails. Derived from natural dolomite limestone, this addition to your isopod enclosure can help supply your little friends with minerals as well as the calcium they need. Calcium needs vary by isopod species, but they all benefit from the calcium because it promotes healthy molting and exoskeleton growth.

How to use - We offer this 4 ounce resealable bag which can be used on a single 6 quart enclosure for many months. When making substrate, I recommend adding a half teaspoon per gallon of substrate since this limestone will break down over time adding to your substrates nutritional content. I also sprinkle this on the surface in many of my bins and let my isopods choose their calcium source. 

Also used for- You can also use this limestone in your houseplant soil mixture or in bioactive enclosures as a way to help neutralize acidic soil, increase the PH, or to improve soil structure. For houseplants specifically, limestone helps promote micro flora that aids in the nutrient availability and disease resistance. 

Contents- Calcium 23.5%, Magnesium 9.5%, Calcium Carbonate 49%, Magnesium Carbonate 32%, Total Calcium Carbonate equivalent 98.2%.

Be advised- When in contact with water this product will break down over time and disintegrate. Dust accumulates in the packaging and should not be breathed in by humans.
