Nesodillo Archanegeli "Shiro Utsuri"
These small isopods are often referred to under their former classification of cubaris sp Shiro Utsuri. This isopod is very active once established and is one of our favorites to watch. When given vertical space in an enclosure they will use it, and climb leaves and twigs. They are a decent size at 20mm (2 cm) full size, and tend to reproduce quickly given the right conditions.
The "Shiro Utsuri" prefer a distinct gradient of moist and dry, with the moist half staying damp consistently. We provide a few bark pieces and a generous covering of leaf litter. Sycamore and other thin leaves seem to be a favorite. The average temperature that we maintain our colony at is 75-80 degrees F.
Feeding the Shiro Utsuri is very easy, as they love Repashy Morning Wood, Fluval BSFL fish flakes, dried minnow, dried mealworms and fresh vegetables like squash, zucchini and pumpkin.
