Curvy Pods

The Curvy Pod is a larger seed pod that varies with straight with a slight curve to almost a full spiral. This seed pod ranges from 2 to 4 inches. You will receive a pack of 6 curvy pods per order.

While the curvy pod can make a great addition to a natural fish tank, it doesn't provide many, if any tannins to the water. The upside of this is that you can add more than one at a time, to make a truly unique aquascape. The large surface area provides a great beneficial bacteria growing area which in turn provides shrimp and other micro fauna a grazing ground of food. 

In reptile or amphibian bioactive setups, this larger seed pod provides an interesting hide for the clean up crew. Isopods and springtails love these pods as hides and climb over and under them with ease. 

While we do heat treat these seed pods, we strongly encourage our customers to freeze them for an hour to kill off unwanted pests that may hitch a ride during transit before adding to your bioactive enclosure or invertebrate containers. For those using them in black water shrimp and fish tanks, we urge you to boil the seed pods for 15 minutes to help the pod sink.
